William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. To study more about his grave, tests were done on his grave using radar scan, the tested were done without opening the cenotaph which is in UK's Church Cemetery.
The test was to find if there any secret hidden inside his tomb about his life. The Shakespeare funerary monument is a memorial to William Shakespeare located inside Holy Trinity Church at Stratford-upon-Avon, the same church in which Shakespeare was baptised.
Channel 4 is doing documentary on William Shakespeare for this 400th death anniversary about his life and family. This test was part of the information collection for the documentary.
Shakespeare was buried in 1616. A sign board in his tomb says "This tomb should not be opened". This was the reason the investigation id done using Radar scan.
