The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to boast powerful specs and features all around, coming at the high-end segment of the smartphone market. Based on information surfaced so far, the handset will sport a 5.2-inch or larger display with a QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 13-megapixel selfie cam and a 3,030 mAh battery.
One version of the Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to feature 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage space, while another variant should come with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of locker space.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 has been highly anticipated for quite a good while now, but speculations suggested that it was delayed so it could pack Qualcomm’s latest processor.
An over-eager Oppomart product page (published, and then quickly removed, in December) listed the Xiaomi Mi5 price as US$599. That price is higher than expected (previous rumors suggested that the Mi5 would come in two variants costing US$311 and US$389), but the specs of the Mi5 do stack up favorably against other next-gen flagships, so there’s still a saving to be had there.
