Voluntary Cleanup Action by Creta Maris Beach Resort

Hersonissos, Greece, September 28, 2019 –(PR.com)– Under the slogan “Be the Change You Expect” and on the occasion of the volunteer “World Cleanup Day,” on Saturday, September 21, 2019, Creta Maris Beach Resort organized a Voluntary Cleaning of the coastal area of Heraklion, in coordination with “Let’s do it Greece.”

This initiative is part of Creta Maris Beach Resort’s series of actions that have been undertaken, during last years, as part of its sustainability program. Aimed at environmental awareness and improving the image of the wider area of Hersonissos, Creta Maris Beach Resort has put sustainability at the top of its priorities in terms of creating value for the local community.

Equipped with gloves, hats and bags, more than 130 employees of Creta Maris and volunteers from all over Greece cleaned up the coastal area of the former US military base in Gournes, by collecting 88 cubic feet of waste and 20 bags of recyclables, thus, greatly improving the image of the touristic area.

Emphasizing the importance of respecting the environment and preserving the natural beauty, the coastal area of Gournes has been transformed into a beautiful waste-free recreation area. The cleanup was coordinated with the actions of “Let’s Do It Greece,” the Greater Simultaneous Voluntary Action that is performed in Greece and was part of the ‘World Cleanup Day’, a global cleanup action, held on Saturday, September 21, 2019, bringing together millions volunteers around the world.

On the occasion of this great action, the General Manager of Creta Maris Beach Resort and organizer of the event, Mr. Nikos Vlassiadis stated the following: “The values we serve at Creta Maris are shared with the local community through our actions that eventually shape the environment in which we operate.
