NINGBO, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Health and safety are important concerns for students studying abroad, especially during a pandemic. At the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), students are provided with a range of services to support their wellbeing.
The UNNC health clinic has certified physicians and nurses on campus to provide daily primary care for all staff and students. Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and over 70 medical kits are distributed around campus for easy access.
“Prospective international students care a lot about accessibility to medical services,” says Kevin Lin, UNNC’s Global Relations Director. “At UNNC, we offer healthcare, available 24/7 in both English and Chinese.”
As well as looking after students’ physical health, UNNC has an English-speaking counselling service to help maintain mental wellbeing. Professional counsellors are available for free and confidential psychological support.
Alexis Stemper, a UNNC master’s student from the United States, found the clinic service particularly helpful. “The clinic can even send an English-speaking nurse with you to a local hospital for further treatment if that’s needed," says Alexis.
UNNC is located on China’s eastern seaboard, a two-hour train ride south of Shanghai, and is part of the University of Nottingham. The campus accommodates around 800 international students and more than 400 academics from 70 countries and regions.

Programmes at UNNC are available at bachelors, masters and doctoral level, and certain bachelor programmes offer the opportunity to spend the last two years studying at the University of Nottingham’s UK campus.
UNNC students are also get guaranteed accommodation on campus, with access to complimentary Chinese language classes, fitness programmes and sports facilities. A vibrant, UK-style high street also offers various kinds of shops and stores.
