Shoppers at the event in previous years have stated they were able to find something for everyone on their Holiday gift list. In 2015, the Hoosier Artisan Boutique was included in Indianapolis Monthlys list of 6 not to miss handmade gift fairs as an event where you will find Indiana artisans featuring quality over quirk. Support your local economy by buying Hoosier Handmade for the Holidays at the Hoosier Artisan Boutique this Saturday. Participants at this years event include Indiana Artisan Matthew Breunig – Jewelry by Matt B of Ossian, Indiana. As the sole source of income for his family, Breunig was searching for an event to take the place of the cancelled Indiana Artisan Holiday Marketplace in Fort Wayne when he discovered the Hoosier Artisan Boutique. According to Breunig, recently becoming a member of the Indiana Artisan program has been a fantastic boost and has made me feel more connected to Indiana and the people who love my work. Breunig is joined at the event by fellow Indiana Artisans, fiber artist Jennifer Berger of Indianapolis and glass artisan Debra Achgill of Lafayette. Berger considers the Hoosier Artisan Boutique to be her penultimate show of the season. As an artisan herself, event organizer Megan Martin desires to create an event showcasing the diversity of arts and crafts available from local Indiana based artists and crafters. Martin states, there are a lot of Holiday craft shows this time of year. I believe what sets the Hoosier Artisan Boutique apart is our dedication to selecting only participants that live in Indiana. We want to encourage communities to support the amazing small businesses in their home towns year round; especially during the Holidays, its easy for the little guy to get buried beneath the behemoths with giant advertising budgets.
