In recent news, the US Army, Navy, and Air Force signed a memorandum for the establishment of common standards across future weapon information systems, with the aim of improving battlefield coordination via streamlined information flow.

This move will allow for greater coordination on the battlefield, as well as faster decision making, and as a result will improve mission success.
Effective air mission planning is a vital part of successful operations, a key challenge being improving and maximising standardisation and data management between systems.
