Pedro Matias is First Angolan to Compete in the World’s Biggest Amateur Singing Competition in Finland

27-year old Student wins as first ever KWC Angola Champion; to compete in Helsinki, Finland at the world finals of Karaoke World Championships.

Huambo, Angola, October 24, 2017 --(PR.com)-- History was made as the first ever Angolan was awarded the title of KWC Angola during the grand finals of Karaoke World Championships (KWC) Angola held at Terrace Night Club in the city of Huambo last 14 October 2017.

Karaoke World Championships (KWC) is the world’s largest amateur singing competition with over 30 country champions competing at the world finals to be held in November in Helsinki, Finland in conjunction with their 100th year anniversary. 27 year old student Pedro Matias now holds the title of KWC Angola 2017 Champion. He will fly to Finland to represent Angola as part of his prize package.

“We are elated to have a singing champion from Angola to be on the world stage. This win will not only inspire Angolans to pursue their dreams of becoming singers, but also elevate the African region as a platform for discovering singing talents…. This definitely drives us even more to continue to grow KWC in the Angola,” said Mr. Manuel Bueti, Director of KWC Angola.

KWC is an international brand from Finland and it is the biggest amateur singing competition in the world. National trials are conducted in each country with the winners competing in the annual international finals. In November 2016, the World Final event was held in Vancouver, Canada where Ryota Kaizo of Japan and Astrid Nicole of Panama won the Karaoke World Champion titles for female and male, respectively. They will be invited to perform as guests in the world finals in Helsinki.
