Ofi Incorporates Cimacast’s Cloud Services Business Unit to Expand Portfolio Offering to Enterprise Customers in Latin America

Latam-based Ofi announced today that it has incorporated Cimacast’s cloud managed services unit into its Hybrid Cloud offering.

Bogota, Colombia, August 03, 2019 –(PR.com)– Latam-based Ofi announced today that it has incorporated Cimacast’s cloud managed services unit into its Hybrid Cloud offering. Under the terms of the agreement all clients as well as a series of assets related to Cimacast’s cloud services business will be integrated into Ofi. Cimacast is the leading provider of cloud services in the media sector in Colombia.

In the first quarter of 2019, the global cloud infrastructure services market grew 42 percent year-on-year and is projected to surpass US$200 billion in 2019. In Latin America, the transition to the cloud trails the US market in terms of adoption with only 10% of workloads migrated to hyperscale environments such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, the three leaders that make up almost 60% of global market share.

Ofi’s decision to incorporate Cimacast’s cloud managed services unit indicates that migration to the cloud in Latin America is gaining strong momentum. “As venture capital continues to fuel an explosion of cloud-based applications, corporate customers are reaching out to experts to help them navigate the chaos. Ofi is an agnostic, trusted advisor to many of Latin America’s largest corporations and continues to see a tremendous opportunity in the region. With the integration of Cimacast’s cloud services unit into its Hybrid Cloud offering, Ofi will be able to support its customers as they define multi-cloud architectures which are essential to their increasingly complex business processes,” stated Peter Ostroske, Founder & CEO at Ofi. This is the start of a new strategy the company is implementing in an effort to accelerate its path to become the #1 B2B IT solutions provider in the region.

In recent years, Ofi has emerged as a leader in the digital transformation space, delivering B2B IT solutions to over 10,000 business customers across its ten commercial offices in Colombia, Mexico and Brazil.

About OFI
Launched in 2014, OFI is the largest B2B platform for IT product and services in Latin America, which includes hardware, software, and managed services for large enterprises and SMEs alike. Since its inception in Bogotá, Colombia five years ago, Ofi expanded to Mexico in 2017, and Brazil in 2019. The company had revenues over US$20 million across the region in 2018 and projects to at least double this figure in 2020.
