While 86 percent of remote workers clearly understand their companys plan to survive the economic toll of COVID, almost half state they do not have clear, formalized communications around working hours, availability, and productivity
SAN JOSE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Wrike, the most versatile collaborative work management platform, today announced the findings from its 2020 global remote work survey. At the corporate level, over 85 percent of employees report they clearly understand their companys plan to survive the economic toll of the COVID pandemic. However, nearly half of these employees state their organizations have failed to provide clear communications and tools to do their jobs effectively.
In response to the pandemic, organizations have had no choice but to close their offices and switch to a work-from-home model. However, six months since the wide-spread adoption of remote working began, many workers are still unsure as to what their employer expects of them.
Wrikes global remote work survey reveals:
Technology and Transparency: The Keys to Productivity
Remote employees are not receiving the proper amount of communications, and therefore do not fully understand what is expected of them. With employees not in the physical office, businesses need to find new ways to communicate with staff, making sure they are still setting expectations and being transparent. “With the current world situation, all of our team has been sent to work from home, said Andrea Flores, Commercial Director, IURO. Its really important that we have the right balance of communications and technology to make sure our employees stay efficient.
“We know that for at least the next nine months, we’re going to be operating in this transition environment. We also know that we need to be thinking about what is the next normal after this transition, said Andrew Filev, Wrikes Founder and CEO. Without a doubt, we will have to refine a hybrid model, and that model will absolutely need to have a digital component. Whatever model an organization lands on, visibility will be incredibly important. As the results of this survey reveal, the more you can do to track progress, stay connected, and provide everyone with a clear view of the bigger picture, the better.
