Mumbai Rains: Severe Waterlogging, Landslides, and Safety Alerts

  1. Severe Waterlogging:
    • Various parts of Mumbai, including Karve Road and Marine Lines, have experienced severe waterlogging. Visuals show water reaching knee height in some areas, significantly disrupting daily life and transportation​.
  2. School Closures:
    • Schools in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Palghar have been closed as a precautionary measure due to heavy rainfall alerts. This step aims to ensure the safety of students amid the adverse weather conditions​ .
  3. Landslides and Fatalities:
    • A devastating landslide occurred in Raigad, causing multiple fatalities and trapping many under debris. Rescue operations are ongoing with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and local authorities working to save those trapped​
