Maintain weight of your children

Maintaining a balance between the calorie consumption of your child and the calorie usage through normal growth and physical activity is of utmost importance to help your child stay fit and maintain a healthy weight. Remember such a proper balance empowers your child to enjoy normal development and growth while restricting him/her from becoming obese and overweight.

Adequate amount of regular physical activity greatly helps in balancing calories consumed and spent, thus paving way for staying active and fit. Keeping aside the fun part, physical activity provides various health benefits to your children including:

  • Strong bones
  • Development of a high self-esteem
  • Reduction in anxiety and stress
  • Proper weight management

To help your child gain good health, you should engage him/her in a minimum of 60 minutes of medium intensity physical activity on a regular basis. Medium intensity physical activities may include:

  • Jumping rope
  • Brisk walking
  • Playing soccer
  • Playing tag
  • Dancing
  • Swimming
