With the preview clip getting over ten thousand plays on Juan’s soundcloud already, the new single Calais and Dover arrives on streaming services and digital stores, including Apple Music, Spotify and Google Play, from the 6th of September, and looks to be a big success, following an already bright 2019 that has seen Juan’s latest book, Ol Brown Eyes Is Back hit bestseller status on Amazon within one week of release.
Taking inspiration from unlikely sources, Juan spoke about how the uncertainty and chaos of the UK’s Brexit conundrum gave her the idea for the song. I was just reading about the latest on Brexit, and I was thinking about how many bridges have been burned, and how hard it could be to rebuild the relationship between the two parties, or even just get to a place of civility, so I thought about how that works between people too.
Calais And Dover by Jennifer Juan is available from September 6th 2019, on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and all major digital stores and streaming services.
