I was inspired, in a way, by the Arthur Miller play, Juan said, discussing her new single "A View From The Bridge and what inspired the track. The first time I read it, as a child, was during a time when I was experiencing love and heartbreak for the first time, so I have a lot of nostalgia and sadness for the play, and it really inspired this song.
2018 saw Juan successfully release her most recent poetry collection, the critically acclaimed 27, With A White Lighter, along with her debut EP Wildflowers and most recent single Winter Girl, which have amassed tens of thousands of streams and listeners across many digital music platforms.
With shades of Lana Del Rey and Father John Misty, A View From The Bridge takes a nostalgic look at lost love and solitude, with a haunting but hopeful sound, along with soft and sweet vocals from Juan. The single is deeply personal, detailing the turmoil of love and affection, through Juan's signature poetic lyrics.
Further discussing the upcoming single, Juan said, I wanted it to reflect the isolation and loneliness that sometimes comes with a first love, when you think you're hurting so bad that you'll never love again, and you can't let go of it.
A View From The Bridge will be available from all major digital streaming platforms and digital music stores, including Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Amazon, Bandcamp and iTunes from Friday, the 22nd of February 2019.
