NEW YORK & LONDON & HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jefferies announced today a total donation of approximately $8.3 million that will result in 129 charities each receiving $65,000. Jefferies� firmwide global charity trading day effort will send much needed funds to accredited charities focused on advancing diversity and inclusion, supporting COVID-19 relief efforts, enabling Texas Relief, improving sustainability and the environment and other worthy causes.
Through the firm�s �Doing Good� Global Trading Day held February 26, Jefferies� clients helped to generate $6.7 million in donated net trading commissions. In addition, Jefferies as a firm will donate $1 million directly, and voluntary donations from Jefferies� 3,922 employees totaled $580,000.
