Merritz International Law Firm hosted the first of a series of round table discussions with the presence of the representatives from the ministries, government organizations, leading law firms and legal practitioners. The discussions included the matters related to the future of arbitration in Uzbekistan, the draft arbitration law �On international commercial arbitration and the establishment of the Tashkent international arbitration center in Uzbekistan, amongst many other topics.

The discussions included the matters related to the future of arbitration in Uzbekistan, the draft arbitration law On international commercial arbitration and the establishment of the Tashkent international arbitration center in Uzbekistan, amongst many other topics.
We took leadership in organizing this working group and involving all relevant stakeholders because we believe that our country is on a fast growth trajectory and it deserves the best local and international talent to come together and serve the bigger vision of the President of Uzbekistan in creating a solid legal framework to attract investments, said Diana Bayzakova, Managing Partner at the international Law firm Merritz.
The roundtable discussion was led by Dr. Foziljon Otahonov of Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Bahrom Ismailov of INGO Buyuk Kelajak, Ms. Diana Bayzakova, an international arbitrator and the managing partner of the International Law Firm Merritz as well as other leading arbitration practitioners.
This is the first of a series of regular roundtable discussions, by invitation only, that will be hosted by Merritz to develop arbitration and the legal and operational framework for the arbitral institutions in Uzbekistan.
