Merritz International Law Firm hosted the first of a series of round table discussions with the presence of the representatives from the ministries, government organizations, leading law firms and legal practitioners. The discussions included the matters related to the future of arbitration in Uzbekistan, the draft arbitration law �On international commercial arbitration� and the establishment of the Tashkent international arbitration center in Uzbekistan, amongst many other topics.

The discussions included the matters related to the future of arbitration in Uzbekistan, the draft arbitration law �On international commercial arbitration� and the establishment of the Tashkent international arbitration center in Uzbekistan, amongst many other topics.

The roundtable discussion was led by Dr. Foziljon Otahonov of Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Bahrom Ismailov of INGO �Buyuk Kelajak,� Ms. Diana Bayzakova, an international arbitrator and the managing partner of the International Law Firm Merritz as well as other leading arbitration practitioners.
This is the first of a series of regular roundtable discussions, by invitation only, that will be hosted by Merritz to develop arbitration and the legal and operational framework for the arbitral institutions in Uzbekistan.
