How to apply for an Indian passport online

You can apply for an Indian passport online by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official Passport Seva website (https://portal2.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/welcomeLink).
  2. Click on "New User Registration" to create a new account. If you already have an account, log in with your credentials.
  3. Once you are logged in, click on "Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport."
  4. Select the type of application you want to submit (fresh passport or re-issue of passport) and click on "Next."
  5. Fill in the required details in the application form, including your personal details, contact information, and family details.
  6. Upload scanned copies of your photograph and supporting documents, such as proof of address and proof of date of birth.
  7. Pay the passport application fee using one of the available payment methods, such as credit card, debit card, or net banking.
  8. Once you have completed the application and payment process, schedule an appointment at your nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Passport Office.
  9. On the day of your appointment, visit the PSK or Passport Office with all the required documents, including the printout of the application form, supporting documents, and payment receipt.
  10. Complete the biometric verification process and submit your application.

After your application is processed, you will receive your Indian passport by post at the address you provided in the application.
