Green Data Center LLP Clinches RM33.96 Million Deal in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, May 27, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Green Data Center LLP, the producer of the Submersify branded fluid submersion data center cooling technology, has clinched a RM33.96 million deal to build and deploy an ultra-green data center facility in Shinsei Malaysia 1, reportedly South East Asias largest data center which is located in Malaysia, officials said.

The family owned Malaysian company on Wednesday signed a letter of intent with Japanese owned Regal Orion Sdn Bhd owner of the Shinsei Malaysia 1 data center for a project to build Evergreen, the ultra-green data center services offering within the mega data center located at Labu in the state of Negeri Sembilan.

Once completed, the facility will be capable of supporting 2 megawatts of equipment or up to 8000 servers to be submersed in GDCs proprietary coolant contributing to increased environmental stewardship and lower operating costs, according to officials.

The negotiations were headed by GDCs Founder and CEO Matthew Rajendra who invented the technology and spearheaded the company in 2010. According to industry sources, Rajendra conducted trials for 5 years before coming out of stealth mode in 2015. Since then, GDC has accumulated numerous international awards including coveted United Nations, WITSA and APICTA awards.

The latest deal reflects data center owners readiness and trust to adopt the next generation of sustainable cooling technology in a large scale, Rajendra was quoted as saying, adding that this project increases GDCs turnover by 300% year to year and will maintain a robust order book replenishment for the next 3 years. GDC's coolant is also used in the defense, electric vehicle, energy storage and telecommunications sectors.

Shinsei Malaysia 1 is a RM1.2 billion investment by Japanese investors into Malaysia aiming to fulfill the requirements of the ever growing US$57 billion global data center industry. This investment according to Malaysian government officials is a shot in the arm for the countrys revived Look East Policy 2.0 mooted by the Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad. The launch ceremony between the parties is scheduled for in June and will see top government officials witnessing the event.
