First Telecom GmbH in Frankfurt Modernizes the Network

First Telecom GmbH has built up new Next Generation Network (NGN).

Frankfurt, Germany, November 13, 2019 –(PR.com)– In order to ensure quality in the future, First Telecom has built up and extensively tested Next Generation Network (NGN) technology in recent months. The new network components went into production in June 2019 and interconnects based on PSTN/ISDN technology were disconnected now.

The change took place without interruption of the services. Many customer systems have been connected to the First Telecom network by SIP trunk (voice transmission via internet protocol) for several years. The implementation of the NGN technology enables a direct IP gateway to the access network operators and transmission of call without repeatedly changed from the new IP technology to the old PSTN/ISDN technology and back. This improves voice quality and makes HD voice possible.

Another advantage of the technology change is the increase of network capacities. So it does not matter today, from which local network a conversation comes, as the interconnection of the networks was centralized.

First Telecom GmbH customers can connect their systems directly to the network
via a SIP trunk and benefit from the lower hardware costs for IP interfaces.
