SEONGNAM, South Korea--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EVARs Smart EV Charger, a Level 2 EV (Electric Vehicle) Charger, has won awards in two categories at the CES 2022 Innovation Awards, the worlds largest information technology (IT) exhibition. The charger has received awards in the Smart Cities and the Sustainability, Eco-Design & Smart Energy categories, thus becoming the worlds first EV charger ever to receive CES Innovation Awards in two categories in the same year.
EVAR Smart EV Charger allows dynamic load balancing, which means an efficient distribution of limited power across multiple vehicles. This charger is also extremely practical, as it reduces the costs of installing charging infrastructure (CAPEX) by up to 80%. Moreover, Smart EV Charger is easy to install and can be managed directly when connected to the cloud. Therefore, it can be used by a broader range of businesses, including power companies and charge point operators. EVAR has been working hard to ensure a hassle-free EV charging life.
The award in the Smart Cities category recognizes Smart EV Charger for its role in supplying electricity efficiently in smart cities, and Smart EV Chargers dynamic power controllability by connecting to Smart-Grid. Using Smart EV Charger can make EV charging more energy efficient in public parking lots since it uses 80% less energy than existing chargers. Using the charger can also reduce costs associated with the operation (OPEX) by up to 70%.
EVAR has released many different mobile EV charging solutions besides Smart EV Charger. The company is planning to launch more advanced products such as EVAR Autonomous EV Charging Robot and Mobile EV Charger, which adopts assistive robotics, in 2022. EVAR has spent 2 years working on a proof of concept and through this, EVAR has successfully proved safe operation of EV charger integrated with ESS as well as the companys business model. In addition, EVAR is planning to be the first company in the world to commercialize the Autonomous EV Charging Robot.
EVAR, which was spun off from Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., released EVAR Robot in 2018, the worlds first robot that can charge electric vehicles autonomously, (https://insideevs.com/news/339815/bjoern-nyland-visits-samsungs-evar-autonomous-charging-robot-video/). EVAR has been delivering new values to the customer by incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to EV chargers. The CES Innovation Award is proof that the companys efforts are paying off. EVAR has attracted early investments from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, NAVER D2 Startup Factory, and more, which shows that it has captured attention in the market. In addition to those investments, EVAR has successfully raised additional 5.5 billion won (KRW) in Series A Funding from Hyundai Motor Company, DSC Investment, and follow up investment from SVIC, Schmidt, and more, as of August 2021.
We are thrilled that our innovative technology and its potential are being recognized on the global stage. In 2022, we will transform ourselves to become a company that specializes in integrated EV charging solutions, expanding our lineup of EV charging solutions and building eco-friendly EV charging stations that reuse EV batteries, says Lee Hun, the CEO of EVAR.
EVAR is currently searching for partners to help facilitate successful global market entry. The company can offer turnkey solutions composed of hardware, software, and operating platforms to traditional EV charging companies as well as new companies that have recently entered the EV charging markets, such as power, cable, and energy companies; MSOs; and car rental suppliers.
