E8IGHT Accelerates Smart Cities Using Digital Twin Platform NDX Pro

  • E8IGHT developed NDX Pro, a simulation-based digital twin platform that integrates and processes data from a variety of sectors including transportation, communications, and services, and offers services to domestic and international markets.
  • With simulation software NFLOW, E8IGHT is driving the digital transformation and innovation of numerous fields, such as manufacturing design, bio/healthcare, renewable energy, and disaster management.

SEOUL, South Korea--(BUSINESS WIRE)--#DigitalTransformation--A simulation-based digital twin platform to stimulate the effective digital transformation of cities has been developed.

E8IGHT, a Korean simulation software company, has developed a simulation-based digital twin platform NDX Pro. The company is providing it to the major cities embarking on their journey towards digital transformation and smart cities.

The digital twin is a key innovative technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that represents physical objects or space in a virtual environment, which enables verification and prediction through simulation. This technology can be applied to a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, construction, aviation, healthcare, energy, and national defense.

NDX Pro will soon be applied to the smart city pilot projects of Sejong Smart City, Busan Eco Delta City and other major pilot projects. Using the WebGL-based 3D visualization viewer, it enables those involved to check the simulation results and visualize various digital assets in 3D.

NDX Pro is based on NFLOW, E8IGHT's independently developed simulation software. NFLOW is easy to use since it makes use of a meshless simulation method, compared to other existing software applications. It can also predict and simulate complex physical phenomena, such as the flow of water, air, and fine dust as well as free surface flow with its particle-level interpretation capability.

Furthermore, NFLOW can actually learn data using its modeling-based simulation capability and make proactive predictions while conventional machine learning software depends on data collected and processed through ICT/IoT.

NFLOW is currently applied to several major industries in Korea, including smart cities and water resources management. E8IGHT is leading innovation in order to expand the market with advanced technologies such as manufacturing design; bio and healthcare including the clinical prognosis of vascular disease; disaster management; and renewable energy.

CEO Jin Kim stated that "E8IGHT pursues its mission 'We Digitalize, Simulate, and Present the Flow' through simulation software. We are doing our best to fulfill our corporate social responsibility by innovating technologies for easier, faster, more flexible and more efficient digital transformation."?

E8IGHT is currently conducting a pilot project to create a digital twin for the renewable energy transition in Ireland, as part of the Global New Software Launching Program by the NIPA (Korean National IT Industry Promotion Agency).
