SEOUL, South Korea–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#ADOY—Bunjang (Bungaejangter Inc.), Korea’s leading c2c secondhand marketplace platform, successfully completed the ‘Samsung Universe’ Pop-up Event at ‘Y173’, a cultural complex located in Seongsu-dong, in collaboration with Future Generation Lab, comprising Samsung Electronics’ global employees in their twenties.
The ‘Samsung Universe’ Pop-up Event was jointly staged by Bunjang and Samsung Electronics to commemorate the launch of ‘Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro’. The event venue was decorated with the ‘Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro’ phones, with a focus on the technological innovation story of the ‘SGH-E700’ (“Benz Phone”). The model was launched in 2003 and broke the milestone of 10 million-unit global sales. The concept of the event was a ‘parallel world’ where the past and present intersect, showcasing the past, present, and future of Samsung Electronics.
Bunjang ran pre-online marketing to ‘Find Hidden Benz Phones throughout the Country’ for this Pop-up Event, collecting Benz phones personally used by customers from all around the country. Despite the model’s long history dating back to 20 years ago, about 500 Benz phones were gathered in six days, with some of them displayed in the Pop-up Event venue alongside their unique stories. Bunjang gave away the ‘Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro’ in a drawing to customers who took part in this event.
The exhibition space provided an opportunity to enjoy various memories of customers, including a participant who confessed his love by changing the caller ID to 1004 which is pronounced the same as “Angel” in Korean, and another participant whose mother took away his Benz phone after noticing him secretly playing games with his younger brother. Furthermore, the event was designed to allow visitors to experience a special moment where 2003 and 2023 commingled through programs such as a hidden message puzzle game and a photo zone.
From November 1 to November 5, more than 4,500 visitors attended the event, which began with performances and an opening party by dance crews including DEEP N DAP and Wolf’Lo, as well as musicians and artists such as ADOY, APRO, and Brother Bin.
