SEOUL, South Korea--(BUSINESS WIRE)--#BOSAGORA--Bosagora Foundation said on December 18 that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative.
Bosagora, Korea's first initial coin offering project, has signed Blockchain Bill of Rights launched by the World Economic Forum as part of an effort to create value for the decentralizing future. It also led the UN SDG Action Campaign to overcome novel coronavirus for which it received an award from the UN Solidarity Awards. Bosagora is engaged in a variety of other activities to create social value.
The UN Global Compact, the worlds largest voluntary corporate sustainability initiative, encourages its members to take part in a drive to improve sustainability and corporate social responsibility by embodying its ten core values including human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption into business management and operation. Currently, there are more than 12,000 corporate and institutional members in 160 countries. In Korea, there are 240 members including the National Pension Service, Chungnam Development Corporation, and CJ Corporation.
With the latest act of joining the UN Global Compact, Bosagora will be able to internalize the Global Compact's Ten principles while implementing its business vision so that it can contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In addition, the Foundation will publish the annual Communication on Engagement (CoE) for its progress on the Global Compact's Ten principles to stakeholders including consumers, civil society actors, the press, and the government.
With the membership to the UN Global Compact as a momentum, Bosagora will try harder to become an organization that fulfills its social responsibilities and creates a true Blockchain project.
Kim In-hwan, President of the Bosagora Foundation, said, "Signing up as a member of the Global Compact will become an indication of our pure and sincere commitment to a higher level of truthfulness. As a project enabler through the use of blockchain technology and the creation of the Bosagora ecosystem, we will try to perfect new business models."
