MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bird Global, Inc. (NYSE:BRDS), a leader in environmentally friendly electric transportation, today announced it will launch service in eight new markets across the United States, Canada, and Australia. These new markets, which are expected to roll out over the next several months of spring and summer, will bring the company’s popular micromobility solutions, such as its e-scooters and e-bikes, to even more riders, making sustainable and affordable transportation options available to more communities.
“Micromobility isn't just for large cities. It is a critical part of building more sustainable and livable communities, and we’re excited to bring our e-bikes and e-scooters to these new markets across North America and Australia,” said Shane Torchiana, CEO, Bird. “This latest expansion represents a meaningful milestone for our company, and we look forward to serving riders in these communities with affordable, reliable, and environmentally friendly transportation options.”
New markets in North America include Burlington, Vermont; Pocatello, Idaho; Logan, Utah; Grand Junction, Colorado; Orange County, Florida; and Saskatoon, Canada. Following the recent launch in Perth, Bird’s first major market for e-scooter operations in Australia, the company will be expanding operations into Willoughby and the MidCoast region.
The eight new markets have been carefully selected based on demand for micromobility options, infrastructure, and local regulations. With this rollout, Bird will expand its footprint across the United States, Canada and Australia, furthering its position as a go-to provider of eco-friendly transportation.
