Positioning its new commuter as something special, Bajaj Auto used the scrap metal from the decommissioned INS Vikrant warship in the making the V15 and has been used to produce the fuel tank of the bike. In fact, the Pune based bike maker’s entire marketing campaign revolved around the V15’s association with the warship and how the motorcycle was an effort to preserve the latter’s legacy.
Powering the Bajaj V15 is a 149.5cc, single-cylinder, DTS-i engine that, mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox, produces 12bhp at 7,500rpm and 13Nm at 5,500rpm. Coming to its dimensions, the Bajaj V bike measures 204mm in length, 780mm in width, 1355mm in wheelbase, 780mm in saddle height and 1070mm in height.
