Online PR News 03-April-2018 – Coming to terms with our selves is one of the objectives that must be achieved in the quest for happiness. This is an important lesson that the author, William Zimmer, hopes to convey to his readers through his book entitled The Tale of a Turtle Who Learned a Good Lesson.

During a 35 year career in federal service, the author, a retired Immigration Judge, encountered many different people from different walks of life. Interacting with people as a custom inspector, felony prosecutor in the state of Texas and an immigration judge has provided Zimmer with a unique opportunity to observe people while they engage in business, travel and contact with government authority; often coping with stressful situations. Zimmer discovered that many people lacked the understanding of how to achieve peace of mind and the judgement to make good personal choices arising from the absence of self-knowledge and acceptance. This realization paved the way for the creation of a beautiful and compelling character with whom most people can empathize: Tobias.

Tobias is a box turtle who at the beginning of the story is not happy about himself. He compares himself with his other friends and is obsessed with admiration of lizards. Tobias befriends Lumpy, a toad, who is a good influence. Tobiass continuous complaints, however, reach the ears of a crafty vulture that persuades Tobias to meet the change monster alleged to have the power to make his dreams come true by removing his turtle shell. Thus, Tobias discontent leads him into serious danger. Nevertheless, at the end of the story Tobias through self-acceptance facilitated by his best friend manages to overcome the obstacle to his peace of mind and improves his life forever.

Zimmer offers a story that the readers will enjoy and learn valuable lessons as well. The journey of Tobias demonstrates how many of us are responsible for the destruction of our inner peace. This is a story that opens the eyes of every person about the things for which they should be grateful. The Tale of a Turtle Who Learned a Good Lesson demonstrates the importance of self-acceptance in achieving stability a world full of personal challenges
