American Idol Star Gives Private Performance at Touched By Type 1 Diabetes Annual Conference in Orlando

Online PR News � 03-June-2019 � The annual TOUCHED BY TYPE 1 conference was held at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida on May 17th and May 18th. The event, now in its third year, is designed to educate and empower kids, teens and adults who are impacted by or have a connection to Type 1 Diabetes. The event draws hundreds of Central Florida families and features two days of speaker sessions, panels, meet and greets and an exhibitor area.

An invitation only reception was held on Friday evening featuring a private performance by American Idol Star Elliott Yamin. Elliott was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 16 and is an activist and a spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The annual event is organized by Central Florida nonprofit DANCING FOR DIABETES whose mission is to spread awareness of the impact that Type 1 Diabetes has on 1.25 million American children and adults and through the art of dance raise funds to find a cure while inspiring those with Type 1 Diabetes to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle.

About Type 1 Diabetes - There are three primary types of Diabetes (Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational). Type 1 Diabetes was once known as juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes. It is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin.
