International nonprofit promotes values to transform global education on World Teachers Day Online PR News 05-October-2018 To commemorate 2018 World Teachers Day, 5 October, the Association for Childhood education International (ACEI), an international nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to education challenges on a global scale, has released the first international code of ethics in the education sector. ACEI developed the International Code of Ethics for Educators (ICoEE) for educators to utilize as a tool and resource in the human development field. The ICoEE will be used to empower and guide classroom teachers, school administrators, and community practitioners as they develop innovative strategies to advance education. Visit http://www.acei.org/education-ethics to download the ICOEE. “While many codes of ethics in education are in existence, they are often nation-specific or specific to a certain area of education such as early childhood, or special education,” said Diane Whitehead, ACEI’s Executive Director. “The ICoEE will be the first code of ethics for educators that is global in nature and reflects universally accepted beliefs about education and human rights. ACEI is extremely proud and excited to have taken the lead in developing this code which we hope will be used broadly to advance access, quality, and equity in education worldwide.” With a rich history of promoting early education, both nationally and internationally, ACEI today is key player and leader in education transformation. Currently, ACEI’s three key initiativesthe Center for Education Diplomacy, Global Schools First, and Innovation Exchangework to improve education by building multi-sector bridges to advance education, empowering schools to prepare children to be global citizens, and sharing ground-breaking education approaches and models. These three programs aim to help solve critical education challenges, through the framework of the UN’s Sustainable Development 2030 Agenda. In addition, ACEI has working representatives in 50 countries, including individuals who are influential at the education policymaking level of their nations.
