Database and Cloud Native Development Experts from VMware, Virtusa and CAST AI to Present at the Virtual Event
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Yugabyte, the leader in open source distributed SQL databases, announced today that it will host the first-ever Distributed SQL Summit Asia on January 20-22, 2021. The virtual event will feature speakers from some of the most innovative experts in cloud and database infrastructure, including VMware, CAST AI, Astronomer, Wipro Digital, InfraCloud, Xignite, Liquibase and Virtusa.
After two years of hosting successful Distributed SQL Summits focused on North America, we are excited to make the event global, said Karthik Ranganathan, Co-founder and CTO of Yugabyte. Distributed SQL is quickly rising in popularity in the operational database market because of its ability to power global applications with resilience and scale. We look forward to gathering database experts and open source developers in one virtual room to discuss expanded use cases and best practices for distributed systems.
Attendees of the virtual event will hear industry thought leaders, database builders and application developers discuss how to leverage distributed SQL systems to build applications and services in different cloud environments. Speakers will share specific use cases and best practices so that attendees can leverage distributed SQL to build and scale cloud native applications.
Distributed SQL catches the attention of developers for a variety of reasons. One that is very important to us is its ability to be deployed across multiple clouds with resilience and scale, said Laurent Gil, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at CAST AI. At CAST AI, we use distributed SQL over multiple clouds using Kubernetes and I'm excited to share my experience at the Summit, including a real-time demonstration showing the advantages we get from our deployment, as well as learn from other experts in the space.
I am excited to represent Liquibase at the Distributed SQL Summit Asia event. DevOps practitioners have been dealing with internet-scale applications for some time and we can apply what they've learned to distributed databases to enable teams to operate safely at internet-scale, while still meeting business expectations for internet speed when delivering new functionality, said Dan Zentgraf, Director of Solutions Architecture, Liquibase. I'm looking forward to discussing schema management and showing example workflows, and learning from other technologists as they share their journeys.
Attendees can also reserve their spot at virtual expert-driven workshops focused on:
- Building cloud native applications on a distributed SQL database
- Surviving failures and performing day 2 operations
- How to move from a traditional RDBMS to a cloud native, distributed database
