Modo today announced the opening of its Asian headquarters in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, China.
The establishment of Modos permanent presence will help cement the economic, academic and technology relationship between China and United Kingdom. The opening of the new office was marked with a visit from Mr Ivan McKee, the Scottish Government Minister for Trade, Investment and Innovation during his official visit to the country, accompanied by key delegates from British Embassy in Beijing and Scottish Development International.
Mr McKee said, My visit is an opportunity to further promote the best of Scotland and help to deepen the long-standing links that exist between our two countries. There is no doubt that Scotland punches well above its weight in terms of international brand recognition and cultural influence - making the most of these strengths is key to our future prosperity including opportunities for our businesses.
We are delighted to announce the opening of our new Hangzhou office, said Dr Majid Anwar, Founder and CEO of Modo. Being in the Internet capital of China and in in close proximity to some of the worlds leading high-tech companies, Hangzhou will provide access to a very large pool of technology talent for us to continue innovating. We are on track to complement this growth in China with a further creation of new high-tech jobs at our global headquarters in the UK, Dr Anwar added.
