Huawei is all set to launch the Honor 5X today. The company had started sending out press invites that state, �Faster Better Stronger� wherein it is expected to launch the Honor 5X, successor to the Honor 4X.
The Honor 5X has already made its debut in China. Sporting a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels of resolution, it comes powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC. The 16GB onboard storage is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot.
On the camera front, one can expect a 13MP rear snapper and a 5MP front-facing camera. The connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 4G. It alos gets a fingerprint scanner. A 3000mAh battery completes the package. It also supports Quick Charge 3.0. Dipped in silver and gold options, it measures 158 grams and measures 151.3 x 76.3 x 8.15mm.
Two variants of the Honor 5X were launched in China in October � one with 2GB RAM priced at CNY 999 (approx. Rs 10,000) and another with 3GB RAM priced at CNY 1,399 (approx. Rs 14,000).
The company has also unveiled the new Mate 8 at CES 2016. In terms of specifications, the device features a 6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display display covered with a 2.5 D curved diamond-cut glass. It is powered by the Kirin 950 chipset, boosting its CPU power by 100 percent, GPU power by 125 percent, and power efficiency by 70 percent.
The internals include 3GB/4GB of RAM along with internal storage options that are limited to 32, 64 and 128GB (4GB for the last two options). In the camera department we get a Sony-made IMX298 16 MP sensor on the back and a 8 MP shooter up front. We get the usual connectivity options and the smartphone is powered by a large 4000 mAh battery.
